Retro!

I was just asked to help host a Bridal Shower and since its going to be held at an adorable, retro wine bar I figured what better theme than a retro-mod, mad men, 50's housewives -esque party. I've been looking up a bunch of awesome retro things to get some ideas and here were some of my finds. Um, unfortunately, I didn't save their sources. I can tell you the invite ones are from Etsy though :)

Lauren Moffatt

I am loving Lauren Moffatt's collection which I found while perusing through my long list of daily blog reads. I absolutely love her designs, especially that sweet green dress. Unfortunately they are way out of my price range.

Can I just add, I love bloggers new photo uploader! So much easier!

Monday Seven

Anthropologie's  new fall collection has me giddy. That mustard yellow sweater is to die for.

Who knew a $5 wedding dress could look so fabulous? Time for me to rethink my local thrift stores.

An incredible cardboard installation.

One of my favorite classic movies. Bonus: Check out that gorgeous fashion and interior design.

Wow.

A fun illustration of flying red-eye.

A sweet, photo booth engagement.

P.s. The incredible Emily A. Clark is having another giveaway. Go to her blog to find out how to enter.

San Francisco love

I have had the urge to go to SF for that past couple weeks. It is one of my absolute favorite cities (If not favorite) and T and I really enjoy traipsing around the town checking out all the awesome restaurants and sights. It would also be the perfect city to play around with the new camera. I've got a little Expedia Fare Alert (Love that thing) set so I'll have to see if any good deals arise.

Craving Autumn

I go back home to Alaska for vacation in 1 month and I was considering getting a new jacket for the trip. I can't decide though. Trench? Pea Coat? Wool Coat? Motorcycle Jacket? Long? Short?

All of this thinking has made me long for fall. Unfortunately, here in Arizona, fall is still several months away. A girl can dream though...

Via modcloth. This would be so cute with some thick, black tights.

Via modcloth.  Perfect for work!
Via VS   I think I'm in love with this one. It'd also be amazing in the fall with some tights.
Via VS. Motorcycle jacket, so cute, but too trendy?

Via VS. I do love this one.

A pathetic throwback

Via here
Ok, a while back when I started this whole "Thursday Throwback" thing I said I had some super emo, lame, old blog posts to share. Well, lovely readers, today you get to see one. Feel free to make fun :)

Died Happy
2006
My lungs feel full but yet I can't breathe, I lay there gasping. My eyes burn and struggle to stay open. My body feels like it is made of lead, there's no way i can ever lift it. My mind is going a mile a minute trying to save myself, trying to figure out how to get out of this, to stay alive. I'm drowning, drowning in thoughts of you.
All the memories we have come flooding over me and I'm overwhelmed. I cant get out of this, the more I struggle and try to push through, to save myself, the more I sink. I get my head above it all just long enough to breathe...but once I catch that breath it all comes crashing over me again and I'm under once more...

I think of you. The times we spent together, the day we met, the things we'd talk about, the places we'd go, the dreams we shared with each other. The times when you'd hold me in your arms, when you'd make me feel safe...when we were together.

Finally, my thoughts stopped, my lungs filled, my eyes closed and my body floated to the top...but I had a smile on my face. You always did make me smile.

Ahem, are you still there? Or did I scare you away with my depressing teenage thoughts?
I can assure you that I was not typically such a sad sounding girl but we all have our moments right?
I'm also happy to report that I'm an incredibly happy, alive, 20 something now :D

P.s. I'll be back to more with a fun post. Promise!

I was born to be a dancer

As promised, here are more gorgeous ballerina photos. I am just in awe of The Ballerina Project (also follow their blog ). I want so many of these prints and can't help but think they'd looking amazing pretty much anywhere in my house.
They make me wish I hadn't give up ballet at the mere age of 5 (just because my best friend quit!). I've always wished to be a dancer, I've got the long, ridiculous limbs, high arches and hyper extended arms...Think it's too late for me? ;)

I like how this one's different, more casual almost.
Look at that arch! and that hyper extended leg! This girl is my favorite.
Stunning background and I love the sophisticated black.
Almost grungy. I like.
I've got to be honest, I'd totally buy this if I could crop the ballerina out.
3 things I love, stormy days, umbrellas and a good trench coat.

Theres just 7 for now. You can expect to see a lot more popping up around here as I'm completely obsessed. I strongly urge you to go check at all (I mean every. single. one.) their photos.

Peace baby.

This home transformation has me in awe

A picnic box? I kind of love it. They could totally use it for work lunches too.

The girl who helped inspire my own 365  has started a 2nd set. I can't wait to see what she has in store for this year.

Simple and sweet wedding menus.

The interior is not my style but that facade and view? I'll take it.

An Anthropologie lovers dream.

p.s. More about that amazing photo above, soon.

Age is just a number

Via here

How amazing are these? I'm just in love with that second one.
Can you believe he is just 18? I'd say he's got a great career ahead of him and I'd love to have someone like him (or hey, even him!) do my wedding photos someday.
 Bonus: he's super cute too.
Check out even more of his amazing photos on his website at simonfilip.

Lazy day

I had a nice lazy Saturday, got up to see my adorable niece at her ice skating lesson then went to breakfast and napped the rest of the day.

Yes, another one

I clearly have a love for lofts. Here's yet another one I'm just head over heels for.

It's a little busy for my taste but I love the nuetral color scheme with just little bits of color, I feel it gives it an older, antiqued look even though the architecture is very modern and streamlined. There's alot of texture going on here from all the fur rugs and throws to the glass staircase and all the wooden grain.
 I love that glass railing!

Thursday?!

Via flickr
But today felt so much like Friday...I even went into work half convinced it was Friday. Well, I guess we will see what tomorrow feels like...

I've been listening to a lot of old music lately, stuff I listened to back in High school like Rooney, The Starting LineGuster, The All-American Rejects ...that kind of stuff.

It's weird how much a song can bring back memories. With some of the songs (for instance, Green Days Are We the Waiting) I can remember exact moments.

That one reminds me of Sr. year Wrestling....We had a day where it was snowing a ton, enough to close the schools early (that's not a common thing in Alaska) but we still had a wrestling tournament going on and I went to pick up my BFF from her school and bring her to the tourney and me and my friend Ryan were singing this song together. Now anytime I hear it that's all I can think of and a part of me doesn't even want to listen the song for chance that it will ruin that memory and replace it with a new one. Kind of weird of me, huh?

Do you have any songs that you have a strong memory linked with?

Industrial love

I love the exposed airduct, cement floor, large windows. Such an airy, casual vibe.

P.s. Make sure to check out this awesome giveaway at one of my favorite blogs.

I want, want, want

Seriously, I want one of these amazing camera bags so much. They're spendy ($165) but I'm determined to get one. Can you believe that will hold an SLR camera? Definitely not your typical, ugly camera bag. I love the one above and the artichoke heart the most, I think. See more here: ketti handbags.
What do you carry your camera in?

Mishmash of Monday

Via Zara Home

As if I didn't already love bananas.

I think my house could use one of these sweet garlands.

What sweet ways to capture lifes events. I especially love the timeline.

Oh books! I'd love to see one of these in person.

Farmhouse chic for sure. I just need a cute little cottage to decorate now...

Some fun NYC wedding invites.

I'll gladly stalk this house.

I have something to show you tomorrow that I'm super excited about! Stick around!

uh-oh!

I've been really, really bad about getting back into the groove of posting.
I had a nice, peaceful weekend. T got us a new Canon Rebel camera and I am so beyond excited about it.
We also went to a nice dinner where I had lobster encrusted steak (oh yes) followed up with some cheesecake, then we saw Despicable Me, it was very cute.
