Today is all about Hockey

After a long, long NHL lockout, Hockey is finally back! I am a die hard Boston Bruins fan and this lockout was slowly killing me. Waking up today was a bit like Christmas morning, and to make it even better, my team won!
I thought I'd show you all some very awesome homemade rinks and game rooms. I definitely plan on having an indoor game/viewing/playing room and outdoor rink someday.

My favorite is that outdoor rink spanning 2 backyards. Best neighbor ever.

Fashion Friday: GIRLS crush

I am obsessed with this show. We started watching when it first came out last year and I instantly fell in love. It's hilarious, charming, and most of all, awkward. So awkward. Like, hiding under the covers cringing awkward.
There is quite the range of fashion on that show, it definitely contributes to the awkwardness. One of my favorite bloggers, Joanna Goddard from A Cup of Jo had the privilege of interviewing Girls costume designer, Jenn Rogien.
I found the interview absolutely fascinating. Go read it here.

I think out of all their ranges of fashion, I'm closest to Shoshanna's. She always dresses very girly. All dresses, skirts, and painted nails. We've both got the awkward hand down too.

A close second would be Marnie. She tends to dress more business than I would. Think fitted dresses, pearls, and pumps.

A part of me wish I were bold enough to dress like Jessa. Not the MC hammer pants and insane prints, but the 80's style hats and 60's style dresses. She's very eclectic though.

Then there's Hannah. Some of her clothes are cute, really cute. She just wears them all wrong.

You can watch Girls Sunday nights, on HBO.

Fun in the Bathroom

Back when I was still going to school for Interior Design, I strongly considered focusing on bathrooms. I know, it sounds weird, but I love bathrooms. I think they lead more to the design side than the decorating which is what I'm more comfortable with.
Anyways, what a better place to have a little fun with the design in your house than in the bathroom? I suppose they'd tend to be a bit more of permanent changes, but such unexpected, fun ones!

These were my favorite ones I've saved on Pinterest. I'm completely obsessed with that dog wallpaper and the Star wars tiles are just, amazeballs.

Tell me, would you be brave enough to use that bottomless pit of a bathroom?

Wedding Wednesday: Mint

I recently ran across a mint green wedding pin (the one above!) on Pinterest and am now loving the idea. There's so many ways you could run with it. Mint and pale pink, mint and navy, or my favorite, mint and gold. Aren't those gold glitter lined envelopes incredible?
A mint green wedding dress could be a great alternative to a bride who doesn't want to go white. I love that it's subtle and romantic, while still being unexpected.

Or you could stick with a white dress and pretty minty green succulents. Or have the bridesmaids in mint and the Groom wear this stunning Boutonnière.

Personally, I'd do an art deco inspired mint and gold chevron stripe invite, a simple cake, vintage mint serve ware, and mint green macarons for a favor.
