The perfect NYE

It's here, the last day of the year. Here are all the makings for a perfect New Years Eve.

#1 Put on a sparkly party dress
#2 Find some sparklers and champagne
#3 Drink champagne and dance the night away
#4 Crash out with your loved one
#5 Steal a steamy kiss from aforementioned loved one.

Or do what I'm doing; get in your pajamas, make yourself some mimosas, order in food, watch When Harry Met Sally, and kiss your handsome fiancĂ© when the clock strikes 12.

Happy New Year!

2013 Resolutions Recap

I absolutely love Auld Lang Syne and while the video itself is mildly annoying, I love the added in lines in this version.

As 2013 comes to an end, I thought I'd take a look at how I did on this past years resolutions.

#1 Blog More. Well, I did good at the beginning of the year, then as usual fizzled off.

#2 Drink More Water.  I actually did really well here! I still need to drink even more water, but I went from drinking maybe a glass of water a week to at least a glass of water a day. I average about 32 oz of water a day.

#3 Eat Healthier. Yea, that did not happen. The only notable changes are that I stopped eating corn and now use almond milk instead of dairy milk.

#4 Time Management. This was another fail. I still struggle to balance things at home, it never feels like there is enough time. Honestly, I just wish I could work less. We're not rich though, so that's not an option :)

#5 Be Sweeter. I'd have to ask T, but I feel like I succeeded in this one. I've stopped letting the little things annoy me so much and have worked on making more time to spend just with Tyler.

#6 Go on vacation with just Tyler. That did not happen this year, instead we went on a really awesome family vacation back home to Alaska. I think Tyler and I still need some time with just the 2 of us, but that will have to be another time.

#7 Get In Shape. Uh, I don't even want to talk about this one. This tops the list of fails for 2013. In fact, I went to yoga less and ate more. With our wedding coming up though, that is sure to change.

I look forward to sharing my 2014 Resolutions with hopes of actually sticking to them.

1/2 way there

I can hardly believe that it has been 6 months since we got engaged and even crazier, 6 months until we get married, it's quite exciting! I realized yesterday that while I am regularly sharing wedding ideas I love, I've yet to share anything about my own wedding.

We will be renting out The Roundwood House in Mountrath, Ireland for a few days for the wedding. The house was built in the 1700's and seems like the perfect setting for our vintage wedding. All of our guests will be staying together in the house which I think will be nice way of uniting the two families as one big one.

I plan on doing a whole post about her gorgeous work, but we've hired Paula McManus to do our photography. Here's one of my favorites as a sneak peek.

I won't spoil the menu, but our dinner sounds incredible. Paddy, the owner of the Roundwood House, has amazing reviews for his cooking. In addition to the several dessert's he will be making, we are also going to have a tiny little wedding cake by Emily's Pantry. I've never seen anyone do such realistic sugar flowers!

We are so lucky to have Andrea from Chirp Paperie designing our invites. I've blogged about her before, and I can't wait to reveal our invitations!

Over the past 6 months my Mom and I have been slowly collecting vintage 1910-1920's decor to use. Everything from cloth napkins in my color scheme to a table runner and a ceremony back drop. I am so excited to see everything come together!

Wedding Wednesday: 6 months down

Tomorrow, December 5th, will be exactly 6 months until our wedding! I have a feeling once January hits, the wedding is going to sneak up on us! I am feeling pretty prepared, but there's still lots to do.
I am, as always, turning to Pinterest for inspiration and I came across this SMP that I love! Included in their invites was a helpful "packing list", what a fun idea!

Decor Envy

Once I got over my extreme jealousy for this gorgeous NYC apartment layout I couldn't help but admire the eclectic and homey design. A Cup of Jo is one of my favorite blogs and I love how their home just seems to sum it all up.

The best parts are definitely those personal touches. The Clash poster that he loves (which happens to look amazing in there!) and the rocking chair with the sweet memories, that fact that its cozy and kid friendly while still being stylish and not childish.

I'm not sure if I love the collage TV wall or that gorgeous grey rug / couch combo more. Either way, I know that I want to completely redecorate our condo. Or, better yet, find a new condo with hardwood floors, lots of windows, and some character.

Read all about it and see more picture here: A Cup of Jo

I can't wait to see the bedrooms and nursery!

P.s. I'm still not over my jealousy. I want to move to the city.

Fabulous Movie Interiors: Moonrise Kingdom

Moonrise Kingdom. There's just something about this totally retro home. A killer attic complete with a window seat, the checkered kitchen floor, and variety of wallpaper. Oh, and the fact that it's a converted lighthouse? Yea.
I can only imagine having had this as my house growing up, so many adventures and memories.

Are you seeing this game room? How awesome are those shingled walls!

I love this huge foyer with the split staircase.

What's your favorite part of this house?

P.S. If you haven't seen this movie, what are you waiting for?

Toddler conversations are so sweet!

Celebrities old time doppelgängers

I'd want this yard in a zombie apocalypse

An invisible bike helmet?

I think we'll need to try this bakery whilst in SF this weekend.

Let's talk more about boots.

Boots, boots, boots!

I've you've spent more than 7 minutes with me in the past week you know that I have been OBSESSING over boots. I want a new pair, or 2 or 3, and ASAP.

I have a pair of brown riding boots from 3 years ago, but they were cheap and are worn out. I am ready for some sturdy, good quality, black riding boots.

While I still want these Frye Dorado Boots, they're still out of my price range. Almost $500? Eek!

I'm currently leaning towards these beauts (as shown in Monday Links).
I totally want them in both black and brown!

Wedding Wednesday: Are you at a Hipster wedding?

I can't be 100% sure, but it looks like our wedding will be "Hipster free". I have been to a Hipster wedding or two though, how about you?

I can't quite get the picture to post large enough, so go here: Refinery 29

Fabulous Movie Interiors: Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day

First off, if you've never seen Miss Pettigrew lives for a day, you really should. It's a darling movie!
It is also takes place in the most glamorous apartment, ever.
The huge fur rug, grand staircase, completely tufted wall, and a completely over the top bathroom done up in cream, gold, black, and teal create the perfect space for the single rich girl.

Wow, right?
