The lights and the buzz

Sometimes at night I get an urge to just go drive, to nowhere. Unfortunately, I think much like "winter light" this is not something I can really describe.
I used to do this a lot when I lived back home and even occasionally while at school in South Carolina (though that was with my roomie) but for some reason, it's just not the same here in Phoenix.
I'd hop in my Jeep and just drive around town, or out of town. Something about being in the car by myself with hardly anyone else on the road is so soothing. You can laugh, cry, sit in silence or talk to yourself. Almost like the world is your own.

Fashion Friday: Dreaming

I was dying to post this yesterday but with blogger down I could not. Works better this way though since it's definitely fashion. I'm dying to have an organza dress like this. Something really flowy and ethereal. The movement in these just kills me (in a good way).  Really, any of Elie Saab's dresses would do.

Wedding Wednesday: Black & White

Wouldn't an all black and white wedding be so chic? I'm loving the above photos but I'd probably pop a little more black in there. Perhaps black place cards or napkins? Or maybe some black chargers!
I imagine little black bridesmaids dresses with white flowers and a black and white candy bar. Even a photo booth with B&W photos would play in perfectly.

This seat will take you places

Isn't this suitcase chair pretty? I love tufting and suitcases so this is just perfect. Reminds me of the bathtub couch from Breakfast At Tiffany.

5-10-11

Aren't these beautiful?

A pretty, crisp, invitation suite.

Wonderfully, harsh design advice.

Within lies one awesome baby boy nursery.

Living at Ikea, every 20-somethings dream.

I think I need a holiday in spain...

Hilarious, illustrated versions of "missed connections".

Let me tell you about my best friend...

 Mom!

I wanted to do something like this for her on her Birthday but I was in San Francisco and it just did not work out so I figure Mother's Day is the perfect make up opportunity.
I have been blessed with the best mom I could ever have. Growing up she was always fun and encouraging and had the perfect balance of strictness.
I remember her pulling me out of school early one sunny day to go home and bake snickerdoodles and the fact that she tried to work just part time so she could drop me off and pick me up herself. No school bus for this lucky girl ;)

Now, don't get me wrong, we had our differences. I had those moments of "You don't understand!" and "You're wrong" but as I've gotten older I've learned that she did understand, and she was right. Dad and I always picked on her for throwing everything away and constantly cleaning. This is just one of the many things I've inherited from her and am proud of.

Now I give her a call every day after work on my drive home so she can patiently listen to me talk about myself for an hour. She's the best listener, advice giver and most dedicated blog follower (dad, you're an extremely close 2nd). She truly is my best friend.

I love you mama!

More Photo Gallery

Here I am playing with my formations. Figured I'd ask my lovely followers for their opinions. I pretty much copied the formations from yesterdays posts to see how I feel. I think mine and T's favorite's are the ones where it makes a square with the edges (#3, 4, & 5) and the very last one. I've numbered the bottom of each to limit confusion ;)
So, thoughts? Do you like any of these? If so, should the frames be closer or tighter? More frames? Less?

P.s. See what I mean about Quincy insisting on being in photos?

Gallery Wall

I mentioned quite some time ago that I was trying to figure out what to do on the wall above my bed. Well, I finally decided to do a gallery wall. I bought all the frames for cheap at Goodwill and have spray painted them all black.
I just need to decide how to lay them out (not as easy as I thought!). I've been using these photos to help me out. Hopefully I'll have the finished product up for you soon.

Wedding Wednesday: Bali

Such a beautiful destination wedding. Her dress is absolutely perfect as is the hair. I love the simple decor that doesn't take away from that gorgeous view! I can just smell the ocean breeze now...

Wonderland

Wow! Isn't these cool? Can you imagine having this as your landscaping? It'd be like your own real life, Alice in Wonderland.

May Monday Links

Hilarious Royal Wedding reactions.

Kate Middleton humour.

All the ways to lounge.

Confetti egg game.

I prefer this pothole construction approach.

This puts even an avid list maker like me to shame.

I'd love to sleep suspended.

Red, white and a blue

I thought in light of tonight's announcement these red, white and blue interiors were fitting.

Contemplating curtains

For some reason curtains make me think of Dr. Suess's There's a Wocket in my Pocket. Anyways, I've decided I'm going to go for it and do some curtains in the bedroom. I hate how the vertical blinds look and would look the ability to make it a little darker in there in the summer. I'm going to follow this no sew tutorial from younghouselove. Now, I just need to decided which fabric! What do you think?
Ignore the photos on the wall, they're gone now. I'm working on that photo gallery for above the bed.
Of course my little Quincy had to be in the photo.
I wouldn't use this one but I do love it.
